Thousands of asylum seekers stuck in legal limbo

The Government has been accused of “chasing headlines” with new asylum legislation by a Labour frontbencher in the House of Lords. Home Affairs spokesperson Lord Coaker branded the Government’s handling of asylum claims a “shambles” as the latest figures were discussed in the upper chamber.
